There are some nice pictures from the ride yesterday posted on our Face Book page. Go to New Low Buck Vintage Riders. I think you can view them even if you're not a face booker...maybe???
We got a couple of nice group pictures with all of us in them because a couple came riding by and stopped to see what the heck was going on, fire in the woods, people standing around, drinking & eating. They visited with us for a while and very nice & friendly and the best part is the guy was riding a nice vintage sled. He didn't know there were so many other people out there who like & ride vintage. We hope they'll join us on some rides this year and maybe join the club too. It seems to me everyone was in a friendly good mood yesterday. I think maybe because we were glad that deep freeze broke and we had an opportunity to get out and enjoy life. The trails were good, there was 3-4 inches of new snow, it was beautiful in the woods and the temps stayed at about 28-30 degrees. It was pretty darn good.
Thanks to Mike & Diana at Green Acres for hosting our group, for serving up good food and drinks and putting up with the 2-cycle stink. Thanks to Pemenee River Riders for having good trails to ride, to Roger our go ahead guy who walked a mile or 2 pulling the supplies in on a sleigh and for getting the fire going for us (and for my ride back to Green Acres in his truck!) Thanks to everyone who came to ride. Hope to see you again on Saturday January 18th in Laona for the Old Iron Ride!
Praying for more snow and no rain and no big thaws. If we can keep what we've got now and add to it every week, even a little, it will be an awesome season for riding!
