Greetings sled heads!

I decided not to go to Naubinway this weekend.

Anyone interested in riding from Florence, WI to Spread Eagle WI? This pinch was scheduled for Sunday, January 27th but was cancelled for lack of snow. We would meet in the parking lot on the West side of Florence at the Community Center. Pull the ropes at 11:00 a.m. & ride south & east through the Spread Eagle Barrens Nuature Preserve, stop at the Governors overlook for a photo op, then continue to the Chuck Wagon in Spread Eagle for lunch (buy your own), then back to Florence on the grade. This is a longer ride ( 30 miles round trip +-). If you are interested, please reply to this thread.

Sounds like a fun ride, should have some fresh snow. I will not be able to make it. My mom is getting out of the nursing home (broken leg) and I have to take her home and get her settled in.

Sorry I will miss this ride. Bear and I are on a saddlebag trip to Mole Lake with supersleds.

Joan and I took the supersleds for a 115 mile spin today also. We thought we better ride them before the snow is gone??

Temps were perfect for the old Iron, and trails were smooth, those who came along today were Repoman, Premix, Miss Starfire, Spraygas, and Recoil

It was a good ride! The view from the outlook is just beautiful! I bet most of our members have never ridden in this area, you should really join in on this ride some time...it's something different. Thanks to Repoman for getting us together to enjoy good times, good trails and good friends.

Oh and by the way Autolube.....nobody broke down,

I like that Arctic Cat colored Polaris! It looks like you guys had a good time. Not much going on down here today. We had some kids running with us old guys. They are full of piss and vinegar.

I can see it was a good day to be riding vintage in Spread Eagle for sure.

However Febuary 2013 is a great month to be snowmobiling in northern Wisconsin vintage or otherwise!

When this day comes to an end so will my weeks vacation. I will have logged over 700 miles when it is all over. And although Marinette County trails are superb this year, the trails between here and home were excellant as well.

Yesterday was my first oppurtunity to really explore the trails of Langlade Co. and I am not disappointed, a real nice variety of wide open spaces and tight, twisty wooded trails. Combination Smo-mo and ATV which looks like it is working very good for them as well. There were hundreds of sleds running on a Saturday yet some how the trails remained seemingly smooth.

As I sit in this hotel lobby this morning (Mole Lake Casino) I see a parking lot full of trucks, trailers and all of a couple hundred snowmobiles.

It occurs to me this place is full to capacity and if it were for snowmobilers there would be nobody here! To those who say snowmobiling ain't what it used to be, perhaps ain't looking in the right places.

After that funny conversation we had at the Chuck Wagon about riding on the wrong side of the road and talking to the police officer, there is a picture (#4) of our leader with the flask! That is funny stuff.....you had to be there! Great shot Spraygas!
