2011 Old Iron Ride Success!!

The 2011 “OLD IRON” Ride was a HIT!!
We had a great line up with 27 “Vintage” sleds,
34 total sledders, and only 2 breakdowns.

Our winners for the day are as follows;
-“Bad Luck” breakdown went to George Simmons
  and his crippled Deere.
-“Youngest Rider” was Cody Oelhafen age 10.
-“Oldest Rider” was Chery Aschenbrenner age 50ish.
-“Vintage Outfit” went to Brian Oelhafen in his Silver Bullet suit.
-We had many “One Pull” start winners John E, Repoman,
  Mr Recoil, Brian O, and a few others!
-Favorite “OLD IRON” Sled went to Terry Wagner with his
1971 Poloron Tornado….Congrats to everyone!!

Honorable-mention goes to our GROOMER who gave us a chuckle all day!!

Special Thanks to Chery and Musky for the great lunch they put out, to T-Bob’s for his yummy
Chicken dinner donations, and to Laona Shell for the $25 Gas card and car wash donations.

I had a great time! Feel a little guilty not making the parent club show. However when you have to drive 2 hours to a vintage show and 1 hour to a vintage ride, the choice seems easy.

Here is a picture of Terry Wagner's 1971 Polaron Tornado. He won the "Favorite Old Iron" award.

This Sled is rare and bueatifully restored.

It awesome that the N.E.W. LBVR established an event in Forest Co. And we have Lloyd and Julie Pete (Mr.and Mrs.Recoil) to thank for that.
