There is going to be a Club Board Meeting on Sunday, October 5th beginning at 4 PM. The meeting will be at Jeff (Auto Lube's) house as we get ready to kick off a new season of Vintage Fun! It is a Board Meeting, but members may attend if they wish. All meetings are open to all members.
At the end of last season, the decision was made to change our meeting structure. Rather than have regularly scheduled monthly meetings, we will have "Board Meetings (officers & directors) and the meetings will be held on more of an as needed basis. Whenever a meeting is called, it will be posted on the forum, on the Home Page of the web site as well as on our Face Book page. Minutes from any meetings will be posted on the web site soon after the meeting so members can keep up to date with club business and events etc.
Do you wonder why we did this? Well, most of the officers live fairly close to each other. Our regular meeting schedule was pre-determined and published on the Calendar of Events. So on the 3rd Tuesday of the month, we would get together and ride in one car to the meeting site, only to find that we were the only ones present! So why should we drive all that way, together, for a meeting when we could just meet at home?! Member participation has not been very good at the meetings. This leads us to believe that if we aren't hearing from you, you must be OK with the way things are going. And everyone hates meetings, right?
It's hard to find a day and a time that is convenient for all of us, so many of our members live outside the area. So we're going to give this a try and see how it goes. We can always change if doesn't work, but I think it's going to be fine. We'll see.
