Yes! Let's Ride!
« on: January 30, 2013, 07:40:41 PM »
Yes we have snow! Yes we are riding on Saturday February 2nd from Dunbar to Goodman for the Brat Fry at 8-HI. There is fresh snow, it's gonna be cold (but not too cold) and the trails are going to be groomed and in great shape! What could be better  :dunno:

We will leave from the Dun-Good Riders club building at W11568 Hwy 8 in Dunbar at 11:00 AM for a trail ride to 8-HI in Goodman. Following the Brat Fry, riders can return to Dunbar via the shorter trail (the same way as we get there) or you may take the longer piston burning "northern route" like we did last year. It won't be as bad because it won't be 50 degrees! You may take the side trip into the St Hubert Shrine or not, that's all up to you. The longer route gives you a chance to put on a few more miles and there are some wide open areas where you can open it up and see what it'll do. (Thus "piston burner"  ;D)

Sleds (old & new) atv's and utv's are all welcome to ride along! Or go to 8-HI in your car, everyone welcome! You don't need to be a member of NEWLBVR or Dun-Good to join in the fun. Why not come on along?!

This is the 15th year for the Brat Fry at 8-HI and proceeds go toward the upkeep of the Dun-Good Riders trail system. There will be food available to purchase, beverages, raffles and family fun. Please help support this fund raiser.

:o Now I'm seeing reports of a high of 7 above on Saturday.....bundle up.

Last year it was in the high 40's for this ride, sunny and melting snow and pistons burning; this year 7 degrees and windy. Must be Winter in Wisconsin!

But at least you'll finally get to ride and on some really great trails too  :thumb:

Spraygas, we would sure like to have you 2 ride along. I know there is a lot going on this Sat...maybe the busiest weekend all winter. Lots of vintage stuff and now with the snow pretty much all over, people just want to ride and put some miles on.

Raffle sled is a 1973 Skiroule RTX? That would be nice to add to your fleet. That's a nice looking sled. We had one just like that brand new in '73 and we have nothing but bad memories with that adventure!   :madwife:  Lasted a couple weeks and then we traded it in on 2 brand new Polaris sleds, the TX for Premix and Mark & I on the Colt 295 SS. We sure did ride those sleds a lot, so much fun back then, even if I was the slowest one out there on the Colt, they never left us (too far) behind... rofl

We would like to make the ride but,our club The Cloverbears in Embarrass has our 39th annual fish derby. I told them I would bring some old sleds out for the day. Our trails are open so we will be able to drive them to the derby. I wish all you sled heads good luck this weekend where ever you ride and be safe! :thumb:

As miss starfire stated it is the weekend with the most going on of the entire winter.

Thanks Miss Star Fire and Premix, for a great day.  :thankyou:  Trails were mint, food was great, company was fantastic!  :rocker:  The couch potato's missed out on another great ride.

All you Sled Heads out there should be thinking about and getting ready for the ride this comming Saturday : Aurora to Pembine, for another fun Brat Fry for the Pemennee River Riders, S.C.

Be there or be Square   :thumb:
