General Discussion / Registration for Antique Sleds
« on: September 21, 2016, 09:38:52 PM »
So...........

I went online to the "gowild" site for the WDNR to renew some of my expired registrations.  When it comes to renewal for Antique sleds, there is no tab to click for a $5 renewal, only a $20 tab.  This would be for the initial fee for the antique registration.  I called the DNR and the woman on the other end said, "I will have to bring this up with our I/T guy."  I also stated that I have not received any renewal notices in the mail.  She said that they haven't been mailed out yet.  Has anybody else experienced this or have any light to shed on the issue?

« on: March 11, 2016, 07:56:09 AM »
On January 30th we made a little trip over to the Kiekhaefer Park Sno Bol event held by the Holyland Snowflyers.  This ride starts at the Sheboygan County Marsh and heads west to Fondulac County through the Holyland to Taycheedah.  It was warm and the sleds were pushing hard.

Wanted / URGENT! Stator for 500 fan cooled cat '77 - '79
« on: November 28, 2013, 11:02:15 AM »
Hello to all you vintage sled freaks!  I am looking for a low buck stator for a '77-79 500 fan cooled Suzuki.  This is specifically for my '78 Pantera.  Check your parts stashes and let me know what you have.  I will be at the show on the 7th.  Thanks!

After 10 seasons of very gentle riding there seems to be an electrical issue.  (This IS a '78 with a '77 hood just to clarify any questions)

Club News / 25 MPH SPEED LIMIT ON ALL FROZEN LAKES!!!!
« on: April 06, 2012, 08:20:19 PM »
Here is some very valuable information that pertains to a subject that needs to be taken seriously!
There will be a DNR Spring Hearing in EVERY county on Monday, April 9, 2012 @ 7:00 pm.  Let your voice be heard!!  I just learned about this today and think that you all should know about this.  There will be a survey handed out to all in attendance. Be prepared to show ID if requested as proof of residency in that County.
Question #65 on page 25 of the agenda (attached).  NOTE: THERE IS SOMETHING THAT ALREADY IN PLACE IN CALUMET COUNTY VERY SIMILAR TO THIS!  I will be there, hope some others can make it also.
Thanks

Fur Coat Guy.

QUESTION 65. Create a maximum of 25 mph on Frozen Water (# 180311) (requires legislation)
Winter outdoor recreation activities are increasing in popularity and there are a growing number of users on the frozen waters of the state. Anglers, snowmobilers, ATVers, cross-country skiers, ice skaters, and Wisconsinites of all ages are often found simultaneously enjoying the frozen waters of the state. Cars, trucks, snowmobiles, and ATVís driving and riding on the frozen surface, can create safety hazards and issues for other users. Sometimes these vehicles are moving at high speeds and within close proximity to persons, other vehicles, or structures. Vehicles moving at high speeds also contribute to some degree to the deterioration of ice conditions due to the energy wave created under the surface of the ice. ATVís and snowmobiles are currently required to slow to 10 mph on the ice when within 100 feet of a person not on a motorized vehicle or within 100 feet of an ice shanty. Speed limits for licensed motor vehicles (cars, trucks, etc) on the frozen waters of the state are not regulated on a statewide basis by state law and only some municipalities have local regulations. This proposal would create consistent regulations for all licensed motorized vehicles (cars, trucks, etc) on the frozen waters of the state.
65. Would you support legislation creating a maximum speed limit of 25 mph for all licensed motorized vehicles (cars, trucks, etc) travelling on frozen waters of the state unless on a designated state or club marked trail?
65. YES _____
NO ______
