Spraygas,

Cool find.  :thumb:  If you are parking it outside, be sure to cover the air intake on the top of the hood behind the wind shield.  Rain water will run thru the air box & down thru the tilly and fill the case with H20 .  I've got my barn find Trail Cat running, but still need a ski & some steering parts.  If you find a parts donor, keep me in mind.

Greetings Sled Heads!

Just trying to plan out the few summer weekends left for 2014.  Is the parade on Saturday or Sunday?  Morning or afternoon? Will you need the machines a few days before the parade?  Do they need to be gassed up & ready to run or can they stay in summer storage mode?  Do you want them dolled up with balloons & stuff, or plain Jane? It would be helpful to know a few more details.

Thanks,

Hey Hippy,

I have a barn fresh '79 Artic Cat Trail Cat 4000 that I hauled back to the U.P from down state Lansing.  :rocker:  It reads 421 miles on the odometer. ( that probably means I need a speedo cable)  It needs a ski, some steering parts and a choke cable to get it back on the trail.  I was reminded at the St. Germain show that you used to have a trailer load of Trail Cat parts.  If you still have some left, leave a post & I'll catch up with you and maybe we can have a few trail safe beverages and make a deal.

Thanks,

Repoman

Greetings Sled Heads,

I had a great day at the Swap meet.  Sun was out, nice cool breeze & I was able to set up in my spot in the trees behind left field.  I had quite a bit of business on the small items, but didn't sell any big ticket items. The buyers evaporated after lunch, so I bailed out.  Looks like Autolube had a pile of stuff to unload.  Hope he did well.  If you didn't go to the Show & Swap, you missed out.  The St. Germain city park was packed to the gills with swappers.  If it gets any bigger, they will have to start using the outfield.

Have a great summer,

Greetings sled heads!

It's almost time!  :rocker:

Show & Swap in St. Germain, a week from this  Sunday.  I can't believe its almost June.  Time to dig your surplus parts & vintage accessories out of the shed & the basement and get them ready for the swap meet.   I'll be pulling out the easy-up and tables & getting the lawn chairs & grill ready to go.  The event is a good time with lots of great people, so mark the day in your calendar, and take a road trip to see what it's all about.   :thumb:

Be there or be a cube!

Autolube,

I plan on going also.  I hope to get my nice shady spot behind the ball fields left field fence.  I got stuck in the center of the open field a few years back and got quick fried to a crackly crunch!  I've got several mid-60's arctic cat suits to peddle along with several tubs of parts.  I might bring a couple of sleds too.  I've go a '71 Panther with a 399 Sacks & electric start to peddle off as well as a '80 Pantera.  I also have a barn fresh '79 Trail Cat with the odometer showing 421 miles.  That might go too.  Who knows, on any given day you can be one fence row or one alley away from finding your next orphan.  It's my favorite time of year to look for new adoptions!!

Keep it HARD to the Right &
Track side down

General Discussion / Re: New Sled Registration Explained
« on: April 17, 2014, 12:34:59 PM »
Autolube,

Thanks for the info.  This snowmobile registration stuff is getting as complicated as the Michigan trout stream regulations.  lol  Maybe they will have to have seminars for the general public to attend, so that after 30 or 40 hours of instruction, we can get a handle on it all. rofl

Regardless, I agree that the increased funding & more members will only benefit the AWSC clubs and the trail system.  I'm sure everyone will do what needs to be done to get it right. :thumb:

Keep it HARD, to the Right & Track side down.
