Title: Need vintage sleds?
Post by: Premix on July 08, 2014, 01:07:39 PM
Hello to All! We need some old iron!
Premix and I are working on putting together an entry for the Pembine Centennial Parade the first week end in August. We'd like a trailer full of old beauties of all makes and models to pull through the parade. So any local or nearby folks.....are you interested? If so please get back to us and we'll get this thing rolling!
We'd like to use this opportunity to promote the club and our events. And you know, EVERYONE loves seeing those old sleds! Can you help us out? :thankyou: Miss Star Fire

WOW! Only 2 views to this post from yesterday and no response from anyone. This forum is really dead in the summertime. What's up folks?

:thumb: :thankyou: Great to hear from you guys! We have sleds coming from YamaBob, Repoman, Auto Lube and Premix, maybe we'll get some more yet? Nice to have a variety of brands too. I know "Billy" is ready! Premix will get back to you guys to work out the details. We'll have the usual penny candy and have handouts about the club, show etc. and any other PR type stuff I can come up with by then. Got any special ideas, let us know.
More sleds would be fine so anyone reading this, don't think we're full up. Just get back to us soon.
Auto Lube.....maybe we could string up that show banner on the trailer too? I'll talk to you when Hodag (sp?) is over.
The 2 of us are thinking about a drive to the Kewaunee show on Saturday, not sure yet, but "probably".
Thanks again Guys! :-*

Greetings Sled Heads!
Just trying to plan out the few summer weekends left for 2014. Is the parade on Saturday or Sunday? Morning or afternoon? Will you need the machines a few days before the parade? Do they need to be gassed up & ready to run or can they stay in summer storage mode? Do you want them dolled up with balloons & stuff, or plain Jane? It would be helpful to know a few more details.
Thanks, Repoman :thumb:

I agree John and we'll get back to you with the plans and the set up info after tonight. We're getting it together and we'll contact you and the other guys right away, tomorrow probably. I haven't heard back from the parade people about exactly where they'll have us line up and the other route info. They're supposed to let us know all of that soon, (real soon I hope!) Pemenee River Riders will have stuff in the parade as well as Dun-Good and with the NEWLBVR, snowmobiling should be well represented!
Sure we can doll up the sleds anyway you'd like! Guess the American flag and something about Happy Birthday Pembine might be in order. We'll have tons of candy of course! I have a lot to do next week to get ready for this. I think it would be nice if we would have a sign on each sled with the year, brand, model (and owner?) I can do that if you tell me the info or if you guys can do a sign, that would be great too.
The parade is on Sunday beginning at 10:30 and running right down Hwy 141. It either leaves from or ends up at the church.....(or both) not sure, she said there would be several line up spots and that they'll let us know that stuff. There isn't anything else going on Sunday except the parade and the closing ceremony. Sat is when the stuff is in the park and Fri is a street dance outside, between the food store & the Silver Dollar. There's an all class reunion, school tours, logging demos, horse pulling etc. Of course, we thought it would have been a good idea to have the parade and then the stuff in the park so the crowd has somewhere to go (and spend money) but that was voted down, too much in one day and too much work for the same people trying to do everything. We know how that goes, always the same with any organization.
So we'll get back to you tomorrow and work this all out. Hope that's OK? Thanks for the help.
