Title: The Passing of Dave Pettit

It is with heavy heart that I'm sharing the news of the passing of Dave Pettit, a friend and dear club member. A true vintage sled fan who was a kind and generous man. We will miss him very much. I am sharing a Face Book post from his wife Lynne, regarding the arrangements. Please keep Dave and his family in your prayers at this difficult time. And---Please pray for an end to this terrible disease that has in some way touched all of our lives. Rest in peace Dave.

"This is Dave's wife, my funny funny man passed away last night after a very hard fought battle against cancer. We will miss him terribly, life just won't be the same with out him. We are having a memorial service this Saturday, January 4th to celebrate the awesome life he lead. It will be held at Cline Hanson funeral home in New London, from 12 until 5:00. For all of you that have been in touch already. thank you for your kind words and thoughtfulness. Lynne"

This is truly sad to hear this... Dave was a great man, who got me going on my Mercury!!  I bought my very first parts from him for the start of that project.. Also got to enjoy a great ride at the end of the season last year with him and his wife, shooting the B/S and some lunch.. Thoughts and prayers to his wife and family.. RIP DAVE.

A true iconic vintage sled enthusiast. It didn't seem like it was just about the old sleds with Dave, he enjoyed the people who enjoyed the old sleds. And boy....could he sell raffle tickets! :angel:

All who new you, will miss you. :'(
