So sorry to hear of the passing of one of snowmobiles greatest. Edgar Hetteen, 90 years of age, passed away on Saturday February 12th. What an interesting life he had, all the history he was part of! I always admired him, his vision, his adventures and his dedication to snowmobiling. Until his health began to fail a few years ago you could find him at many snowmobile events. He was always willing to talk about the early years with anyone who wanted a word with him. He's been one of my idols since I first heard about him many years ago. Very sad news indeed.

Well said Patti. Nobody has made a larger inpact on the sport and industry of snowmobiling. I suppose there would still be snowmobiles if it weren't for Edgar, however the development would of been much slower and different.

He is considered the "Godfather of Snowmobiling". That is an understatement.
