Hey Hippy,

I have a barn fresh '79 Artic Cat Trail Cat 4000 that I hauled back to the U.P from down state Lansing.  :rocker:  It reads 421 miles on the odometer. ( that probably means I need a speedo cable)  It needs a ski, some steering parts and a choke cable to get it back on the trail.  I was reminded at the St. Germain show that you used to have a trailer load of Trail Cat parts.  If you still have some left, leave a post & I'll catch up with you and maybe we can have a few trail safe beverages and make a deal.

Thanks,

General Discussion / Anyone going sledding this weekend
« on: April 04, 2014, 04:34:17 PM »
Greetings Sled Heads,

Up here in da U.P. we're getting significant new snow today and tonight.  Heavy & wet!  I might just get the sled off the trailer and take it for one last spin.  You know, to get the stabil gas mixed up good.   :thumb:  Anyone else taking a last run?

If I don't run into you on the trails, maybe we'll see you in St. Germain for the swap meet?  I hope to have my regular spot in the trees behind the left field fence.

Keep it HARD to the right & track side down,

Greetings Sled Heads,

Just wondering if anyone is planning on attending the pinch from Racers to Diamond Dave's this Saturday?  The stop at Diamond Dave's is new, but it's on the way to where we used to go.

Give a shout if you plan on going.

Club News / Rescheduled Florence to Spread Eagle Pinch
« on: January 24, 2014, 12:43:27 PM »
Greetings Sled Heads,

Due to the dangerously low temps predicted for this Sunday, and due to the fact that most of the ride is out in the open, un-wooded meadows of the Spread Eagle Barrens Nature Area, the Florence to Spread Eagle Pinch has been rescheduled to be held on SUNDAY,SUNDAY, SUNDAY February16th.  Please mark your calendars and pass on the change to  your fellow sled heads.

Hope to see many of you on Saturday, January 25th (tomorrow!) at the Pemene River Riders Brat Fry at the Silver Dollar in Pembine.  Stop in , have a brat & get into the raffles to show your support for this local organization that does so much to keep our home trail system pristine.   :beers:

Be there or be a Cube

Club News / 2013-2014 Repoman Pinches
« on: September 11, 2013, 11:04:16 AM »
Greetings Vintage Sled Heads!

The first meeting of the season is comming soon.  I thought I'd put in my $37.64  for the schedule of Pinches  for the upcomming season ( my 2 cents is worth $37.64.  Stay thirsty my frineds  :rocker:):

SUNDAY,SUNDAY, SUNDAY - January 12th  Pembine-Auroura Pinch.  Leave Diane's Pop-a-Top & travel to the C & R Bar in Aurora for lunch then back.  48 miles +/-

SUNDAY,SUNDAY,SUNDAY- January 26th  Florence- Spread Eagle Pine Barrens Pinch.  Leave the city parking lot in Florence, WI  and travel through the Pine Barrens Nature Area to the Chuck Wagon in Spread Eagle for lunch, then Cruise the grade back to Florence 32 miles +/-

SATURDAY, Feb 8th  Aurora to Pembine- the Silver Dollar Saloon for the Peminee River Riders Brat Fry, then back to the C & R in Aurora  48 +/- miles

If there was enough interest, I would be willing to do a Michigan Pinch again.  The ride requires a Michigan Trail sticker  ($45.00) so it's not  what I would call  "low buck"  But if you do the one time $50.00 Michigan life time registratin/trail sticker for a sled 30 years old or older, it pays off over time   :D

Is there going to be an Old Iron Display & Ride in Laona this season?  If anyone knows,  post it for the schedule.  That event was always a blast!

I'm sure there are other traditional events to be put on the schedule:  Balls Beater Ride & Show, Dunn-Good Brat Fry Ride, Hot Dog  Ride & Cook out, etc.  It's time to speak up and claim your event date for the year so  the calendar of events can be published.

There should be no excuses from the "Couch Potato's" for not having enough lead time to schedule sled time!!  Remenber we are the North East Wisconsin Chapter of the  Low Buck Vintage  RIDERS Snomobile Club.

See you on the trails

Remember folks, dates & times are subject to schedule changes and trail conditions.  Always, always, always check the forum for updates and changes as the time approaches for events so you have the most current info.   :thumb:

Wanted / Looking for Raider to acquire to restore
« on: August 26, 2013, 03:15:29 PM »

Greetings all you vintage sled hoarders!  It's time to shake loose of one of your projects that you never seem to get to:

I received a call from my friend Dave.  He is looking for a Raider to restore and take on vintage rides.   Would like a Double Eagle, but would be just as happy with a 34T or 44T.  Leave a description , price & phone # & I'll passs it on.  Remember, our club is the N.E.W. Low Buck Vintage Riders, S.C.,  not the find'em & stuff 'em away club.  Every vintage sled that is not  put on the trail and ridden is a case of vintage abuse!!!   :rocker:  So if you've got a Raider tucked away, give some serious thought to passing it on so it can be ridden and appreciated by the snowmobile community.  These vintage sleds are our history.  Share it with the world!!!

Club News / Racer's to the Pines Pinch Saturday!Saturday! Saturday!
« on: February 19, 2013, 05:14:59 PM »
Greetings Sled Heads!
The big event is approaching!  This Saturday is the pinch from Racer's & LanaRae's to The Pines on Crooked Lake outside of Crivitz.  This event is alway's well attended and it looks like there will be snow.   :thumb:  So load up your vintage iron, mix up a fresh batch of motion lotion, tweak your tilly & put your vintage iron on the trail.  I haven't heard if there will be a Barn Fresh raffle sled this year or what time we will pull the ropes.  If someone has the facts, take a minute to post them on this thread for all to see.

Remember: this is the North East Wisconsin Chapter of the Low Buck Vintage RIDERS  :rocker:  If you don't put your vintage iron on the trails, it vintage abuse!!!!

See you there!

Greetings sled heads!

I decided not to go to Naubinway this weekend.     :dunno:  Anyone interested in riding from Florence, WI to Spread Eagle WI?  This pinch was scheduled for Sunday, January 27th but was cancelled for lack of snow.  We would meet in the parking lot on the West side of Florence at the Community Center.  Pull the ropes at 11:00 a.m. & ride south & east through the Spread Eagle Barrens Nuature Preserve, stop at the Governors overlook for a photo op, then continue to the Chuck Wagon in Spread Eagle for lunch (buy your own), then back to Florence on the grade.  This is a longer ride ( 30 miles round trip +-).  If you are interested, please reply to this thread.

Keep it Hard to the Right & Track Side Down!

General Discussion / Rupp Industries go cart. Looking for info
« on: September 11, 2012, 02:29:50 PM »
Greetings Sled Heads,

I was approached by a gentleman today at lunch.  He asked me if I knew anything about a Rupp iindustries go-cart with a fiberglass body that looks like a corvette?  I explained that I had a Rupp mini bike in the mid 70' but was not familar with the go-carts.  Anyone have any info or links?  This guy is looking to sell and wants to set a fair price. His example has a frame & body, but not much else.

Leave a post if you have any info.

Thanks,

Club News / Florence to Spread Eagle Ride a Great Success!!
« on: January 29, 2012, 10:35:47 PM »
The Florence to Spread Eagle Ride went off without a hitch!!  7 vintage sleds with one Supersled.  28 miles of great country!  No breakdowns.   A stop a the Governor's overlook.  Great lunch at the Chuck Wagon in Spread Eagle.  Freshly groomed trail from Spread Eagle  back to Florence.  Miss "Star Fire" won the door prize.   Bear had the oldest sled on the pinch: his '70 arctic cat.  I can't understand why any sled head would stay home when  a great time is there for the taking!

All you trailer Queens need to dig your vintage iron out othe garage/shed/barn/trailer and show up for a vintage pinch!  You are missing out on the best part of winter!!!!!
